The Govt. Women P.G. College, Kandhla (Shamli) was established in 1979 with seven departments. Since that time, there was considerable increase in the demand for admission to the B.A. and M.A. courses. The Govt. Women P.G. College, Kandhla (Shamli) offers UG arts courses PG (H.Sc. & Economics) to girls. The arts faculty has been quite progressive in its approach and it led the way in introducing reforms in teaching and evaluation successfully since 1979.

The mission of the Arts Faculty Departments is to impart high quality Graduate. The department focuses on the excellence in under-graduate teaching. The immediate plan of the faculty is to strengthen the infra-structure of the teaching. In addition, the departments plan to take up the study of the local environmental problems along with the other departments of the Faculty of Arts. The Arts Faculty, cherish the vision of providing comprehensive solutions to enable people of India to enhance their quality of life using education.

Teaching Methodology

Presently the faculty of science is running B.A. and M.A. (H.Sc. & Economics) courses, our teaching programme involve continues assessment through quizzes, term-test, tutorials and group discussions throughout the year. Modern pedagogy techniques are used along with aids like LCD projectors. The academic curriculum is updated regularly. At UG-level the department is preparing the students to compete in pre-PG examinations for entrance in to various National/Central Universities to opt modern courses.

B.A.(UG) with following subjects like: English, Hindi, Sanskrit, Political Science, Sociology, Home Science and Economics.

M.A. (PG) with two subjects H.Sc. & Economics.

SUBJECT COMBINATIONS of B.A.

 Any three subjects can be taken except three literatures.

Foundation Courses and Qualifying Courses are compulsory for all students.
